Anna Rubbo
Drawing on the work of Global Studio and selected design professionals, Anna Rubbo will discuss how design and planning processes can promote equity and agency in city development. Examples will range from hands on improvement projects to urban design interventions, to community led initiatives. Reference will be made to the Millennium Development Goals that have influenced the Global Studio work and to the next major global framework: the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). In conclusion, Anna will reflect on the UN’s World Urban Campaign, the new Urban Agenda and Habitat 111, and offer her views on their significance for the designing citymaker. CPD Points available for NZIA members.
Anna Rubbo is the Project Director of People Building Better Cities, founder of Global Studio and Senior Researcher in the Center for Sustainable Urban Development, The Earth Institute, Columbia University.
